Personal Inspiration
Gary was born in Brisbane where he received private art tuition under the late David Fowler. After an early career as a cartographer Gary spent time as an illustrator and other related work in the graphics industry. This training and involvement is evident in his use of colour and composition. His extensive travels have given Gary a love of the Australian Outback that has been the central theme for his artwork for over four decades.
Gary is a full time artist residing in Maleny, in Queensland’s beautiful Sunshine Coast Hinterland, where his family dates back four generations. It is here that he has been inspired to use a colourful and dramatic approach to his varied subjects.
